The first missionary religious congregation for women in the history of the Church and the world is the Institute of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary founded in 1877 by BL. Mary of the Passion, now in the 139th year of its course.

Franciscan in its essence.
Missionary in its services
Mary - like in its approach.

» Dedicated to universal mission

» Seek strength from the Eucharist

» And offer ourselves in challenging services

Through education for life is our commitment in keeping with the vision of Bl.Mary of the Passion, our Foundress. These women, in turn, become ambassadors of social and ecological justice, working to uphold the pluralistic heritage of our Nation. In giving preference to the poor, dalits and the marginalized in urban and rural areas, FMM sisters labour to bring Christ`s Kingdom to them. We serve in Colleges of higher learning, Nursing Schools, Higher Secondary Schools, High Schools, Middle Schools, Primary Schools, Vocational and Non-formal study Centres. Most of these were situated in semi urban and rural areas at the time of origin. With the passage of years our institutions have become prominent landmarks surrounded by the advancements of life.
