THE GIFT OF GOD

THE CHARISM OF THE FRANCISCAN MISSIONARIES
OF MARY. "THE GIFT OF GOD…"

"God consecrates us in a religious Institute that is called to play a prophetic role in accordance with its foundation CHARISM. Through our fidelity to this consecration our life bears witness to the primacy of God’s love."Constitutions Art.1

Our charism is a gift, a grace, a seed that was sown in the fertile soul of our Mother, Blessed Mary of the Passion. This gift was revealed gradually through events, especially through the spirit acting within her, leading her, almost against her will, to accomplish God’s work. Mary of the Passion had lived and experienced the charism before she communicated it, through the witness of her life and sufferings as expressed, in her various writings. A woman of action, but above all a woman of deep prayer, she was the first to opt for active contemplation and contemplative action.
