Sr. Elizabeth vettical

Your life was a blessing  .  Your memory is a treasure  . You are loved beyond words.

                                                             And missed beyond  measure.

Sr.Elizabeth was born on April11th 1939 at Bharananganam, Pala District Kerala. She was the second daughter of Mr. Joseph Vettical and Mrs.Mary. From her young age she had the desire to become a nun. Sr.Elizabeth joined the FMM Institute on 11th June 1969. Her vestition took place on 12th June 1970, and she made her first vows  on 13th June 1972 and her final vows on 4th June 1978. She did her ANM training and she had a unique passion towards health ministry and pastoral ministry and therefore she started to work with this vision in various communities such as Ooty, Ketti, Soosaipuram, Coimbatore and kilambadi. The people of kilambadi fondly remember her loving service even today. She had been working incessantly for the cause of the poor and the down trodden sections of the society.

Sister Elizabeth is a loving and caring person; she is gentle, simple, kind, affable, and approachable to everyone. In 2002 Sr.Elizabeth was brought to Assumption hospital Avinashi in a serious condition as she was disoriented due to severe diabetes, but in a miraculous manner God gave her a new life, by exercising His mercy through the doctors. Thereafter she stayed happily in the community going around doing whatever work she could do.

All of a sudden God assigned her a very special mission of surrendering herself to Him. God invited Sr.Elizabeth to His banquet On 6th October 2016 to enjoy the peace, joy and happiness which He had in store for her ever since she was born. The end was rather sudden even though we sensed a gradual diminishing in her health since the past few weeks. She was called home just before the feast of the Holy Rosary which is a sure proof of God’s unfailing care and protection for the one who had loved and served Him faithfully. The Almighty had paved the path for her to derive pleasure in the fullness of life.

Confident that our loving Saviour Jesus Christ has already welcomed her into the eternal kingdom of His Father,  we pray for her beautiful soul to rest eternally in His embrace.
