In Memory

Sr. Francina

Nothing can conquer her soaring spirit, ever straight forwarded thinking and thoughtfulness for the fellow beings around her. Sr. Francina tender in heart and strong in words pursued her mission until this March 2017.   The moment she was diagnosed as having advanced cancer, she prepared magnanimously to meet her Master of life.  Sister Francina radiantly returned her heavenly home at 5.45 am on 22nd June 2017 within 3 months of the diagnosis of lung cancer, at the age of 88.

We remember   Sr. Francina, a person full of creativity, a great achiever with perfection in mind. As a teacher, she sent students for various competions and they always returned with prizes and trophies.  She had an intuitive mind in selecting students who would use their creativity to the optimum.  She was headmistress in Primary section both in Our Lady’s Convent, Thoppumpady and in Cattiparambu, where she always visited her students’ houses and cared for their well beings.

Even after retirement from School, she was a unitive force in getting the retired teachers for regular prayer and caring for one another in love and service.  Sr. Francina’s life was a testimony of hard work and enthusiasm. Every year for Mission Sunday’s sale she surprised all with many handmaid Rosaries and flowered kerchieves.   As a true missionary, she was disponible to go anywhere and commit herself to any type of social work with utmost perfection as well as an animator of Communities both in Karnataka  and Kerala region.  Dear Sr. Francina, we miss your hearty laugh, majestic walk and sisterly correction for  perfection.
