Sister Anna Devassy Parookaren Kachapilly

Sister Anna Devassy Parookaren KACHAPILLY (Mary Benedict) passed away on 2nd February 2017 at 4. 25 pm in Maria Assunta,Pune. For the past six months, Sr. Anna was sick and confined to bed. She was not able speak or eat properly. She suffered silently and patiently offering her struggles to the Lord. As Sr. Anna’s breath was gradually slowing down, she was given the Sacrament of the Sick. A little later Sr. Anna was gently called by the Lord to Himself, while the community sisters were around, praying with her. May she enjoy eternal happiness in Paradise. She was 83 years old.

Sr. Anna was a very kind, loving and caring sister. She was friendly, approachable and helpful to anyone who sought her help. She was very hospitable and her cheerful, smiling face brought joy and consolation to people who came to visit us. She was a good pastoral worker, who happily carried out family visits, communion distribution to the sick and elderly in many Catholic families in Hyderabad. She was simple, forgiving and we seldom heard negative remarks or criticism about others and even about those who have hurt or insulted her. She was satisfied with the minimum and lived a life of simplicity and poverty. She was a prayerful person and lived her committed life with joy and gratitude. May the Good Lord reward her.
