Sr. Anna Theresa Kinny




Sister Anna Theresa Kinny (M. Othilda) passed away today (08-08-2017) at around 4.30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Home, Mumbai. Sr. Anna Theresa was a cancer survivor and was keeping well. She had also recovered from a fall and fractured hand, been able to move about in the house.  The last three days she had little stomach upset otherwise she was quite fine. Daily she would wake up at 5. 00 a.m. and get ready for Mass. This morning as usual sister went to wake her up at 5 o’clock in the morning to their shock Sr. Anna Theresa was no more, she peacefully embraced sister death in her sleep. The doctor was summoned who confirmed the death of dear Sr. Anna Theresa. May she enjoy the eternal peace in paradise.

Sr. Anna Theresa was a simple, gentle, loving, kind and prayerful person. She was very affectionate towards children as she spent many years with the little ones in the crèche, orphanage and teaching the kindergarten kids. She received everyone with a pleasant smile and tenderness. She was generous and charitable towards the poor and approached them with love and respect. Sr. Anna Theresa was involved in various types of ministries and gave herself selflessly in whatever was entrusted to her care. As an animator she lived an exemplary life caring for the sisters and doing her mission with love, humility and in an unassuming way. She possessed a serene and peaceful nature and in the same way she returned to her Lord. May the Lord reward her for her love and faithfulness to Him as a committed Franciscan Missionary of Mary.
