A loving tribute to Sr. MURINGALACKAL Joseph Thresia Joseph

20 - 10 - 1935 to 28 – 02 2020

“Be faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life”.  Revelation 2: 10.

Sr. Tressy suffered from mild Asthma attack throughout her life, but she was a silent sufferer, never a word of complaint.  She was a hard worker and humorous by nature. She was an unassuming person and very responsible to any work.

Sr. Tressy had advanced breast cancer which was not known and adding to it she suffered from heart problems. So she was medically unfit for any treatment.  Towards the end she had a fall and broke her leg. Inspite of all these she never showed in her face that she was suffering from intense pain.

She was in Manjummel community for the past 15 years. As there was no proper nursing care and medical facility, she was brought to Kaloor infirmary on 24th  February. There , she received the anointing of the sick in the morning on 28 th February and by 11 am she breathed her last in the presence of the sisters. She was in Kaloor community only for 5 days.

Sr. Thresia Joseph, fondly known as Tressy, whose Religious name was Conrad of Offida was born on 20th October 1935 at Elangulam village Changanachery diocese of Kerala. She was the 3rd of 8 children born to Joseph and Rosa. She entered the institute of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on 11thAugust 1956. She did her novitiate in Pune and made the first vows in Thoppumpady on 9th March 1961 and she made her final vows in Thoppumpady on 19th March 1967.

She did her teachers training in Thoppumpady. She taught as a teacher in Kaloor, Lourdepuram and Thoppumpady schools, especially as Headmistress of primary section in Thoppumpady. When she retired from school, she was house accountant in Martalli and Palayam.

It is true …After 85 years of faithfulness to the Lord Sr. Tressy received the crown of life on Friday at 11am.
