Sr. Annakutty Varkey VADAKKEDATH (Annabel)

I heard you calling and here I am Lord!”

Sr. Annakutty Varkey VADAKEDATH ((Annabel) was born on 13th November 1941 in  Palai, Kerala . She joined religious life on 11th June 1966 at Ketti.  She worked as a social worker in three provinces in India Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore. 53 years of religious life was spent working  for the  poorest  by choice. Always  pleasant, loving and caring sister was available for everyone who approached her.  She was very soft spoken, prayerful, loving and faithful sister and very kind towards everyone. By nature she was a quiet person. She never complained about  her suffering and pain.

Sr Annakuty was suffering from acute rheumatic  arthritis for many years and in December she had a fall that made her to be completely in bed. Sr Teresa Paul and Sr Annakutty were sharing the same room. The death of Sr Teresa Paul truly saddened her immensely.

On the 28th evening she had  a rise in temperature and on the following morning,  she had slipped into comma state. The doctor was called and examined. According to the doctor's  suggestion she was taken to the hospital. In the hospital, they checked her sugar and   they found the sugar level was very high. As the ECG tests were being done she quietly slipped  in to the hands of the beloved on 29th June at 6.30 am.

May her soul rest in Peace!
