The Earthly Journey Has Ended, The Heavenly Residence Is Open

An earthly light has gone out, but now where Sr. Theresiamma is, no earthly light is needed. The glory of God, shining brighter than the sun, is her radiance, and her face is now gleaming in that glorious light!
For the past one year she was in silent recollection preparing herself for this day. Yes dear Sr. Theresiamma the journey you undertook in this earthly life has come to an end the heavenly residence is welcoming you with joy. We are sure that you have entered your permanent home with all the saints and angels to enjoy the presence of God the author of your life.

Sr. Theresiamma was born to Mr. Chacko and Mrs. Rosa on 27th April 1935 at Kidangoor, in Kottayam District. She is the 3rd among 11 children. She is the eldest among girls. Her younger sister, was a religious in the Holy Cross Congregation. At the age of 20 on 11th August she entered the convent at Palluruthy Kerala. She did her Novitiate at Grottaferetta, Italy. In religious life she was called Sr. Isabel.

As a religious she served the people in different parts of Kerala, Goa, Mumbai, and Telangana. After her perpetual vows she had been superior for six times in various communities of Mumbai province. Sr. Theresiamma was a born leader. In her leadership she had been very loving and kind with all the sisters in the community which made most of her religious life as an animator. She was loved by many. She was very gentle in her dealing with little children which made the tiny ones come closer to her. She enjoyed being with children in the Kindergarten. She valued relationships very much; this could be experienced through her regular communication with people whom she knew. She encouraged the young sisters to come forward in life. She was prayerful and a lover of music. She had a beautiful smile which attracted everyone who came across her.

She crossed the threshold of Maria Assunta community in the year 2017; from then on she had been the part of praying ministry. She was regular in her prayer life with special devotion to Mother Mary. The earthly journey of her life has ended and the heavenly residence opened on 7th January 2020 at 4.25 am. She went peacefully to meet her Lord at the age of 84, calling us to ponder on the message of Tagore: “I have got my leave. Bid me farewell, my sisters! I bow to you all and take my departure. Here I give back the keys of my door, and I give up all claims to my house. I only ask for last kind words from you. Ask not what I have with me to take there. I start on my journey with empty hands and expectant heart”.
