CHRIST, Our King

In total contrast to an earthly king,

Christ, our King is not seated on a throne

But hangs on a cross, stark naked under a death sentence, for our sake.

We are His and He is OURS:

Christ willingly gave up His power, prestige and comfort,

 He was ready to face inconveniences, sufferings even unto death.

He is humble and a true servant of all.

Gives up the palace and the entourage, to be for and with his people;

 Not commanding and condemning but

Willing to forgive and prepare a place: heaven - home for all.

If Christ is our King and we, His followers then we need to be like Him:

Humble, a servant, gifting self for the betterment of others.

Take the side of the poor and the needy;

Make their lives on earth peaceful, dignified and just.

We are a kingly race, a royal people with a difference simply because

Christ is our King
