The first missionary religious congregation for women in the history of the Church and the world is the Institute of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary founded in 1877 by BL. Mary of the Passion, now in the 139th year of its course.

Franciscan in its essence.
Missionary in its services
Mary - like in its approach.

» Dedicated to universal mission

» Seek strength from the Eucharist

» And offer ourselves in challenging services

Year of faith 2013 : Lenten Sunday-1

This Lenten period is for our return to the Lord. We may not be very far away but only out of the track. The selective scripture readings and the model of Jesus remind and welcome each one of us to consider and make the necessary shift. Let he readiness we have to receive the ash on our forehead be followed and proved by the dash we make from where we are to where we are called to be: near Christ, rather Christ like.

Temptations from the exterior abound. Pray to become sensitive even more to those that nag and lure us from within- to do the apparently right/ acceptable things but for ulterior/ wrong motives: known only  to self and to God.

Pray  for  the grace to see, the Grace to return to the track and  to remain focused.

The trials, tests, and blocks may clear for the time being but is sure to return at “an opportune moment”.

Lord, I believe, I want to believe.
