25th anniversary of Inter religious prayer for PEACE

The ‘Day of reflection, dialogue and prayer for justice and peace in the world’ under the leadership of Pope Benedict XVI in Assisi on 27 October, marks also the 25th anniversary  of the inter religious day of peace promoted by  Pope JohnPaul II.

The theme of the Day, said Card Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, is “Pilgrims of truth, pilgrims of peace”. It aims “to show, with simplicity, that as religious men and men of good will, we want to offer our own articulated contribution to the building of a better world, whilst at the same time acknowledge the need to grow in dialogue and mutual esteem so as to improve the efficacy of our actions.”

Lord and Master of Peace, united with the delegates of the various religious beliefs we pray that the thirst for peace in our hearts be quenched. May St. Francis of Assisi, make each one of us a true instrument of Peace in our immediate surrounding and at the world at large.
