Invocation

Christus rex

Pope Pius XI instituted the feast of Christ the King in his 1925 encyclical letter QUAS PRIMAS. In 1969 Pope Paul VI gave the celebration anew title”D.N.Jesu Christi Universorum Regis” ( Our Lord Jesus Christ King of the Universe )and fixed the new date as on the last week of the liturgical year. He also assigned to it the highest rank of “Solemnity.”

The feast of Christ the king brings the liturgical year to a close and  through the text of the gospel of Mt 25:31 – 46 Shows that our life cycle on this planet will also come to the end and await the day of establishing Christ’s Kingdom with all people who have lived in accord with the teachings, values and above all the model of Christ – that of accepting  and treating the “OTHER” with dignity as Christ did.

The Universal Children’s day is celebrated today. May the love which Christ manifested for children and their childlikeness which he advocated as model for us be preserved and encouraged in our present world. May every child on the face of the earth have the right to be a child in its fullness.

In the evening of our life we shall be judged on love, then will His Kingdom come.

A Very Happy Feast to You!
