Elder Care, Ageing Gracefully

(Geriatric Care)

Care for the elderly sisters is the cry of our institute and it is  the major concern of all provinces. According to  Mumbai province plan of last provincial  chapte, one of the goals is “To care for our sick and elderly sisters “  and the  Lines of  Action is to provide Care plan for our sick and elderly sisters , so in view of  this the provincial and the council organized 2 days (Sat 8th and 9th Feb 2014) workshop on  ‘Elder Care, Ageing Gracefully’ at St. Anthony’s Home, Mumbai  for the communities in western region. This workshop was conducted by  Silver Inning Foundation a reputed NGO which has Home for the elderly in Mumbai. Nearly 40 sisters participated in the training from Goa, Pune and Maharashtra .

The resources persons were young and energetic lay persons who conducted  different sessions :

The sessions were  made  interesting through   audio - visual  presentations, games , exercises and yoga. It was moment of joy as young and  elderly sisters attended the session together. All the participants were given Certificate of Appreciation by the director of  Silver Inning Foundation.

So sisters felt energized, gained health tips,  and learnt ways and means to face the challenges of aging and to understand  the psychological, chronological and social aspects of aging.
