Independence day with the prisoners

A batch of students and teachers from St. Helen’s Higher Sec. School, Chennai along with Deepam Madhar Sangam, Tiruvanmayur  went to Puzhal Central prison to celebrate the 70th Independence Day. Only the male inmates were gathered together, all in white, shorts, pants and dhothies. Many officials were invited and honoured among them were service  some outstanding personnel who give voluntary services through the year. Our girls entertained them with songs and dances. Their response was very enthusiastic. They seemed to be cheerful, cared for and respected. Their rapport with their officials was friendly. We were served lunch prepared by the prisoners. May the day they are awaiting come soon was our wish and prayer.
