In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, FMM Social Service Society ( FMMSSS) , the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) plays a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable groups, particularly children, youth, and women. Amid growing social inequalities, digital divides, and online risks, we have adapted our methods and expanded our reach to promote inclusion, protection, and empowerment. FMMSSS holds innumerable success stories of rescuing lives , training women and making youth as ambassadors of social change The following is the one such example :
Drivers as First Responders
It was on 25th March 2025 FMMSSS organized a district-level networking and sensitization meeting aimed at empowering lorry, truck, and auto drivers to play a pivotal role in the prevention of human trafficking. The event convened over 100 participants, including drivers, union leaders, and key law enforcement officials.
Dignitaries from police department, Cyber Crimes, Anti human trafficking unit , Child line and Child Welfare Committee enriched the discussions, emphasizing the transport sector’s crucial role in identifying trafficking cases. The workshop unpacked various forms of trafficking — from forced labor to online sexual exploitation — and highlighted how technology, including social media, is increasingly used to recruit and exploit victims.
Participants were trained to spot warning signs, such as distressed passengers or children traveling with unrelated adults. Legal frameworks were explained, alongside vital helpline numbers: 1098 for child helpline, 100 for police, and 112 for emergencies. Drivers were urged to act as vigilant community responders, promptly reporting any suspicious activities.
A tangible outcome of this effort came on the same day at 8.pm., when a coordinated operation by our staff, police and drivers led to the rescue of 8 children and 5 women trafficked from other states and forced into street begging. These victims were admitted to the Government One-Stop Center for rehabilitation and were successfully reintegrated with their families, thanks to swift action and collaboration.
The event concluded with renewed commitment from all stakeholders to build safer communities. FMMSSS reaffirmed its dedication to continuing awareness initiatives and strengthening partnerships to protect vulnerable populations from exploitation.
