“How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:15

Those who carry the gospel have a welcoming message. It is a joy to those who embrace it.. The word “beautiful” means full bloom or development. We do not normally think of feet as beautiful. Most of us think they are quite ugly! It is the message that makes the messenger beautiful. “Feet” implies travel.

Yes. On 1st, November, Sr. Rita Rani realized how beautiful it is to be messenger to the people of Sri Lanka and started her journey towards it. The Lord has chosen Sr. Rita Rani to be a privileged instrument of His love and peace to the nation of Sri Lanka and to its mission.

Sri Lanka is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean, just off the south-eastern coast of India with a population of about 20 million people. The island is rich in natural resources, and has a diverse economy based on agriculture, mining, fishing, manufacturing, and tourism.  Sri Lanka has suffered from escalating violence. Once the envy of many developing countries for its educational and health care systems, the current crisis has reversed these achievements and damaged much of the social fabric of this small Indian Ocean country.  Sri Lanka’s economy was devastated by a civil war that lasted for approximately 30 years and by the deadly Covid Pandemic. The country faces Economic, Political and Social issues. The People are facing the rising of food prices, a depreciating currency, and rapidly depleting reserves.

The People are waiting.

So, the idea of being “sent” is commission from a higher authority, a divine commission. Proclamation requires a commission. The emphasis here is on the one who sent the proclaimer-Jesus Christ. Missionaries and evangelists go in the name of another. We do not go in our authority or power; we go out under the auspices of God Himself. John Powell in his book “Through the Seasons of the Hearts” writes – God sends each person into this world with a special massage to deliver, with a special song to sing, with a special act of love to bestow. And no doubt, today the Lord is waiting to give you a special message through you, dear Sr. Rita Rani.

Let your Light shine
